What big differences there are between normal and alternate endings? I got Sir Ectors sword and in the end all my companions left. Is there way to get alternate ending and not to loose all your companions? Where can I find Flame Dragon, Frost Dragon and Swamp Dragon? Which is better, Druid or Warrior? Where can I get Firewalkers staff?
The difference is that in one ending you kill Lord Bane and in the other you replace Lord Bane.
There is no way to replace Lord Bane and keep all your companions. Good characters aren't going to stay loyal to an Evil God.
Those other dragons are only found in the 'Instant Action' mode. They are not in the quest. Of course they could appear in future add-on packages.
If you like winning games quickly with a very straight forward offensive method, the Warrior is better. If you like more defensive oriented battles that last 2-3x as long then the Druid is for you.
The Firewalker staff can be found in the stores for sale. After every battle that you win the contents of the stores change. So fight a bunch of easy to kill road monsters and then check after each battle to see if it's for sale.
Regarding dragons there are two quests.
The first leads to abondoned dragon roosts.
Later in the game around Ylarie there is a side quest "dragon in chains" which leads to the flame, frost, and swamp dragons around Dragonrealm.
If you want to *capture* them then you'll need to beat them in the 'instant action' mode 3 times each.
As Flicker mentions, in the Dragons in Chains quest you can optionally battle Flame, Frost and Swamp dragons (I forgot about this since I didn't never battled them because of the way I completed that quest). Since you've already beaten them 3 times in instant action mode, you'll have an option to capture them.
Once you complete the alternate ending the game is over.
Not sure why you'd want to get them back again to be honest since the game is completed at that point.
Anyway, I have no idea if you can. Once I get the final cut scene I've never done anything else (tho you can move around on the map there isn't anything new to do).
yes - you can get the companions back if you drop them from your party. i did it with my wizard on one play-through.
you have to drop darkhunter before the "3-sorcerers" quest in the realms of death. everybody else can be removed before the "follow-the-sword" quest. then when you're done, you can just wander around and pick them all back up.
i still had quite a lot to do after the storyline ended on that playthrough - kalkus and his gears as well as elistara and the dragons. but it was also fun to revisit lots of old areas and put the entire party back together.
